SENIOR H20 AEROBICS
Geared specifically for those over age 60, these low-intensity classes are held in the shallow end of the Downtown Y pool and are perfect for the new exerciser or those with limitations.  The resistance of the water provides muscle strengthening and cardiovascular qualities, while the buoyancy offers mobility due to light weightedness.

WATER AEROBICS
Movements in chest-deep water such as walking and marching are the focus of this class.  The resistance of the water provides muscle strengthening, while the continued movement offers cardiovascular strengthening.  These classes are offered year-round in our heated, indoor Downtown YMCA pool, and during the summer months at our New Hope and Caledonia outdoor pools.
PARKINSON'S AQUATIC EXERCISE  This class is geared for individuals with Parkinson's Disease and meets twice weekly.  A medical release must be obtained by a treating physician before attending class.  An individual appointment is set up with the instructor prior to class attendance.   All exercises are done standing in chest-deep warm water; no swimming is required.  Main areas of focus are: large motor skills, balance, light cardio, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and voice/diction.
